With Irish Life research published this week showing that only 1
in 5 people expect to fully retire at 65, traditional assumptions
around retirement are being turned on their head.
Jennifer highlighted the need for organisations to embrace
cross-generational workplaces, foster age diversity, support
lifelong learning and have more open conversations about
later-career plans. While we're good at discussing career
progression in our 20s, 30s and 40s, we need to become equally
comfortable discussing what the final decade of a career might look
like, whether that's phased retirement, mentoring, consultancy
or project-based work.
As workplaces evolve, these conversations will be increasingly
important for both employers and employees.
