Our lawyer and Partner, Anna Demetriou, the only Cyprus-based member of the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL), joined leading family law practitioners from around the world for the IAFL Annual Meeting in Dublin.
This year's gathering held special significance as the IAFL celebrated its 40th anniversary, marking four decades of international collaboration and exchange among family law practitioners. With members across more than 46 jurisdictions, the Academy brings together experienced lawyers committed to advancing the practice of family law and strengthening cooperation across different legal systems.
The educational programme explored some of the most complex and evolving issues shaping international family law today, including maintenance and its enforcement across borders, children's rights and identity, international family disputes, and the protection of vulnerable individuals.
The programme also featured an address by Ireland's Minister for Justice, Jim O'Callaghan, adding to a milestone gathering for the Academy and its international membership.
Anna's participation provided an important opportunity to exchange perspectives and expertise with family law practitioners from different jurisdictions, while remaining closely engaged with developments in an area of law that is becoming increasingly international and cross-border in nature.
