Shareholder Bob Lightfoot presented during two breakout sessions during the 2026 Wisconsin Assisted Living Association (WALA) Annual Conference, held Feb. 25–27 at the Kalahari Resorts in the Wisconsin Dells.
The first session, "Assisted Living Legal Updates," addressed regulatory developments, including "Top 10 Citations" for each licensed category of assisted living, regulatory appeals, video recording memos, licensing, Medicaid, assisted living case law and more.
The second session, "The Appeals Process for Assisted Living—You Can Do It!," featured information for CBRFs and RCACs on how to appeal a citation, No Admit Orders and revocations.
Lightfoot is a shareholder and chair of Reinhart's Health Care Practice and its Long Term Care, Assisted Living and Senior Independent Housing Services Group. He has extensive experience representing the owners and operators of nursing homes and assisted living facilities on operational, regulatory and employment matters, as well as buying, selling and licensing these entities, survey and certification, audits, risk management and HIPAA compliance.
