International law firm McDermott Will & Schulte represented the largest group of non-founder equity owners of Atlantic Group, the leading independent US based transaction liability insurance brokerage in Atlantic Group’s sale to Howden, the global UK-based insurance broker.

This deal positions both companies for long-term growth by combining Howden’s global scale and resources with Atlantic Group’s specialized transactional risk insurance, enabling them to deliver broader, more innovative solutions to clients. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026.

The cross-border McDermott team was led by John Lutz and Michael Halsband with invaluable assistance from Andrew Granek, Christopher Stacker, and Eleanor West, along with Ogo Anochirionye, Kevin Hall, Jeremy Kass, Rob Marshall, Brian Mead, Nick Paul, Brandi Ripp, Alejandro Ruiz, David Sherwood, Todd Solomon, Hudson Todd, and John Zhang.
