As a 2025 “Litigation Department of the Year” finalist for general litigation, Riker Danzig's litigation group was featured in the New Jersey Law Journal's October 23, 2025 Q&A article highlighting the Firm's significant achievements in 2024, ranging from complex commercial disputes to nuanced bankruptcy matters to Constitutional litigation. Notable successes include a significant “leaf blower” case in Montclair that required defending against multifaceted constitutional attacks—Equal Protection, Supremacy, and Takings Clause claims—while establishing precedent for municipal regulation; the dismissal of class action for client Dun & Bradstreet, balancing First Amendment protections with state publicity rights, and the ongoing Daniel's Law challenge addressing judicial safety versus constitutional free speech protections.

The Q&A also noted Riker’s continued investment in technology upgrades and expansion to address emerging issues in practice areas including cybersecurity, IP and wire fraud litigation. Addressing the evolving legal marketplace, the department emphasized that client expectations remain unchanged: exceptional service and personalized attention. "We stay close to our clients, and communicate regularly to ensure our work stays aligned with their objectives," our litigation team noted. The Firm has prioritized transparent billing practices, offering flexibility and predictability through early conversations about costs.

On talent retention, the group highlighted its collaborative culture as a competitive advantage. "This isn't a place where associates disappear into their offices and grind out document review for years," the team stated, emphasizing cross-practice collaboration and early exposure to senior partners and clients as key factors in attracting and retaining top legal talent.
