Speaking recently with the Canadian Bar Association's National Magazine, Martin Lapner shared insights into Gowling WLG's role in supporting the creation of Canada's first professional women's soccer league — a project powered by a coalition of law firms offering pro bono services.

The article highlights the collaborative effort by lawyers across the country to help bring the new league to life, offering support in areas such as corporate governance, sponsorship agreements, and intellectual property. Alongside Lapner, Jessica Ward also contributed her expertise to the initiative, reflecting the firm's deep commitment to advancing equity in sport and beyond through pro bono work.
