Lowenstein Sandler’s Chair and Managing Partner Gary M. Wingens has been recognized as a 2025 NJBIZ Icon.

According to the publication, these “trailblazers and innovators” from industries across the state “are honored for their work throughout their careers — not just in their respective fields, but in the state’s larger business community as well. These ICONs have not only made a name for themselves over the years, but also served as mentors for the next generation of leaders.”

Since taking leadership in 2008, Wingens has led Lowenstein Sandler, the largest firm in New Jersey, to become a national force, expanding its attorney headcount and increasing revenue in a steady upward trajectory. The firm has experienced substantial growth under his direction, and now comprises over 350 lawyers in offices in New York, Palo Alto, New Jersey, Utah, and Washington, D.C.

Wingens’ legal practice spans the areas of structured finance, mortgage finance, and commercial real estate, overseeing acquisitions, dispositions, and financings of properties; mortgage loans; and servicing rights valued in the billions of dollars.

Passionate about public interest and pro bono work, Wingens’ vision inspired the creation of the Lowenstein Center for the Public Interest to strategically channel the firm's pro bono and public interest efforts. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Victoria Foundation, the Board of Directors of Kids In Need of Defense (KIND), the Board of Directors of The Jewish Education Project, and the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Institute for Social Justice.

Honorees will be celebrated at a special breakfast event on May 20 at The Marigold in Somerset.
