NEW YORK (October 11, 2024) – Holland & Knight was recognized by LatinFinance magazine with five Financing of the Year awards, demonstrating the firm's significant experience advising corporate and banking clients on some of the most prominent cross-border financing matters. The awards were announced at LatinFinance's annual Project & Infrastructure Finance Awards Dinner in New York on October 10.

The awards aim to celebrate excellence, innovation and dedication demonstrated by players in the industry, propelling the development and advancement of vital projects across Latin America. Winning deals in which Holland & Knight had an advisory role include:

Infrastructure Financing of the Year: Latin America | Power Financing of the Year

Acquisition Financing of 13 Power Plants in Mexico

Holland & Knight advised UMB Bank N.A. (Nasdaq: UMBF) in connection with the $6 billion financing of the acquisition of 13 power plants currently owned by Spanish multinational electric utility Iberdrola S.A. (BME: IBE). The assets were purchased by an acquisition trust managed by Mexico Infrastructure Partners FF S.A.P.I. de C.V.

Road Financing of the Year | Local Currency Financing of the Year

Financing for Troncales del Magdalena Toll Road Projects in Colombia

Holland & Knight advised eight financial institutions, including Bancolombia, Corporación Financiera Internacional (IFC), BID Invest, Banco de Desarrollo de América Latina y el Caribe (CAF), J.P. Morgan Securities PLC, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) and Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional (FDN), on the COP$4.3 billion financing of the fifth generation (5G) of highways Autopista Magdalena Medio (Troncal del Magdalena 1) and Autopista del Rio Grande (Troncal del Magdalena 2), which are being developed by KMA Construcciones and Grupo Ortiz.

Vinte Sustainable Bond

Holland & Knight advised the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IDB Invest) as an anchor investor of 750 million Mexican pesos (approximately US$43 million) in the placement of a five-year sustainable bond valued at 1.5 billion Mexican pesos (approximately US$87 million) issued by Vinte, one of the leading companies in the housing industry in Mexico.
