Walkers' Hong Kong Investment Funds team acted as the Cayman Islands counsel of Advantage Partners in connection with the formation and launch of their Japan-focused buyout fund series, AP VII Series Funds. Despite an overall challenging macroeconomic environment, the AP VII Series Funds were oversubscribed and reached a ¥130 billion (approximately US$1 billion).
The Walkers team was led by Denise Wong and Ally Lam from our Investment Funds team based in Hong Kong, and supported by Colm Dawson from our Regulatory team based in Hong Kong, Monique Bhullar and Thea Maitland from private capital & trust team based in Cayman Islands, Walkers Corporate Limited in relation to the registered office provider, Walkers Fiduciary Limited in relation to the trustee services, and Walkers Compliance and Regulatory Services Limited in relation to the anti-money launching related services.
