In light of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Merchant Shipping Directorate within Transport Malta has recently introduced online services as a preventive measure in order to minimise contact between individuals and reduce transmission of COVID-19. The online services offered relate to yachts registered under the 'Valletta Registry', hence covering private registration and commercial registration. These services include, inter alia,:

  • Provisional and permanent registration;
  • Renewal of the certificate of registry;
  • Transfer of ownership;
  • Any other ancillary services.

Following the introduction of these online services, all payments due to Transport Malta are to be made by debit or credit card.
