ASIC has published its long awaited consultation paper on the requirements of whistleblower policies for public companies, large proprietary companies and proprietary companies that are trustees of registrable superannuation entities operating in Australia.

We've previously reported here on what these entities need to do to comply with the wide-ranging changes to Australian whistleblower laws that came into force from 1 July this year.

ASIC's consultation paper and draft regulatory guide for whistleblower policies can be found here. We'll shortly publish an update on the content of the consultation paper, and our views on areas that are relevant to businesses operating in Australia.

If your business is impacted by the requirement to have a whistleblower policy and you would like to make a submission on the draft ASIC guidance (due by 18 September 2019), our team is able to assist.
