NEW YORK, October 3, 2022 – Proskauer, a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce that Robert Pohlus has joined the Firm's New York office as a partner and member of the Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity Practice.
Robert's experience includes leveraged buyouts of both public and private companies, cross-border transactions, carve-out transactions, strategic acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures and co-investments. Robert also has extensive involvement advising investment funds and public and private corporations on governance and other corporate issues.
"I am delighted to welcome Robert to Proskauer. His experience working with GPs – from growth equity to private equity – will be a great addition to the Firm and will bring tremendous value to our clients," said Daniel Ganitsky, co-head of the Firm's M&A practice.
Robert's practice primarily focuses on representing large-cap and middle market private equity sponsors on their most significant and complex transactions across a range of industries, including health care, media, financial services and manufacturing.
Lauren Boglivi, co-head of the Firm's M&A practice, said: "Robert's stellar reputation in the New York market is one of exceptional client service and the highest quality legal work, which will further enhance our premier M&A and Private Equity platform. His deep private equity industry expertise complements our Firm's work for asset managers across funds, finance and other related areas. Robert is a fantastic addition to our team."
"As private equity continues to shape so much of today's market, there is ample opportunity for GPs to make business-defining transactions," said Robert. "Proskauer has a long-standing and well-earned track record in private equity and is well-positioned to serve GPs and asset managers. I look forward to helping clients achieve their business goals alongside my new colleagues and contribute to the efforts of the Firm's leading M&A and Private Equity Practice."
Robert's arrival follows a number of recent transactional hires at Proskauer. Earlier this year, the Firm welcomed Evan Palenschat, its first Chicago-based private credit partner, and Kristina Trauger, who joined Proskauer's Capital Markets Group in New York. Most recently, the Firm announced Joshua Apfelroth as an M&A partner in New York.
Robert joins from Kirkland & Ellis. He received his law degree from Cornell Law School.
