NASAA Warns Of Threats To Investors In 2020

The North American Securities Administrators Association
("NASAA") identified the top five investor threats for
2020, based on investor complaints, enforcement actions and
investigations.
According to NASAA, the leading threats to investors in 2020
will be:
- promissory notes;
- Ponzi schemes;
- real estate investments;
- cryptocurrency-related investments;
and
- social media/internet-based
investment schemes.
In addition, NASAA continued to urge investors to be cautious of
(i) investments that promise high returns with no risk and (ii)
speculative private securities offerings.
