The Worcester Historical Museum announced 20 people and organizations who will be recognized with the 2020 Smile Award at this year's Harvey Ball which will be held virtually on October 2. AiVi Nguyen was chosen to be one of the recipients of the award for her work with United Way of Central Massachusetts. The Worcester Telegram spoke with William Wallace, the executive director of the Worcester Historical Society, about the event and why there are so many recipients this year.
"It's our 20th anniversary," explained WHM executive director William Wallace, "and its 2020, and we thought as a virtual program, let's recognize 20 people who are part of the larger 'Team Worcester' that make Worcester smile at this moment in our life. In a moment like this, how do you pick out one person, one group, when we're all in this challenge together?"
