We are very pleased to announce that Sonia Mak has been named the new chair of the Canadian Bar Association's Pensions & Benefits Law Section. She assumed the position on September 1, 2018. Sonia has been a member of the section's executive since 2010 and occupied different offices of the section from 2015. The CBA Pensions & Benefits Law Section is Canada's leading association of pensions and benefits lawyers.

Sonia Mak is a partner and the leader of the Pension and Benefits Group of the Firm's Toronto office. She focuses her practice on pensions and benefits law. She has advised many different stakeholders – including plan administrators, pension fund trustees, investment managers and other service providers, employers and their non-Canadian parents, and individual beneficiaries with respect to different types of retirement income plans and benefits plans.
