CIMO Compagnie industrielle de Monthey SA has entered into a new
agreement with the Swiss Confederation for the continued use and
upgrade of the thermic power plant Thermatel in Monthey as a
strategic reserve power plant in case of electricity shortfalls.
The agreement is subject to the respective credit being approved by
the Federal Swiss Parliament. Under the new agreement, the plant
would be converted into a dual-fuel installation and provide
approx. 55 MW of power.
Bär & Karrer acted as legal advisor to CIMO. The team
consisted of Luca Jagmetti, Sebastian Sutter (Energy & Natural
Resources) and Teymour Bakhtiar (Commercial).
