Achieving another market first in the complex securitization space, Cadwalader advised the issuer and arranger in connection with Barings’ inaugural $508 million Infrastructure CLO, which marks a strategic expansion of the global asset manager’s CLO platform into a new asset class.
The deal incorporates novel criteria for evaluating infrastructure assets compared to the existing framework used by many other deals in the market. The landmark transaction created a new platform, allowing investors to gain diversified exposure to high-quality infrastructure loans and broadly-syndicated loans.
This builds on Cadwalader’s prior role advising BNP Paribas as arranger on Barings’ debut European middle-market private credit CLO in 2024.
The Cadwalader team was led by partner David Gingold and associates Evan Bloom, Benjamin Drew and Michael Fabrizio and included ERISA partner Jamie Frazier, Tax partner Jon Brose with associates William Walsh and Christopher Chandra and financial restructuring partner Kathryn Borgeson with counsel Alex Strom.
