You are invited to our seminar in Singapore or Hong Kong for key legal insights into trust structures and succession planning.
Withers' Global Chair and trust and probate disputes specialist Paul Hewitt, alongside our partners in Singapore and Hong Kong, will consider how, when family wealth is held in complex structures, a fallout or disagreement amongst stakeholders can lead to complications, fast. Join us as we follow the fictional Wong family through a series of events that threaten to tear the family, and its succession plans, apart. We will touch on how to navigate:
- Challenging the exercise of discretion;
- No contest clauses;
- The role or authority of trustees and protectors;
- Resisting attempts to remove trustees; and
- Succession mechanisms for powerholders, including situations where no trust is in place.
In this session, you will hear about some of the unusual situations that international families have faced when disputes go nuclear – as well as ways to prevent this from happening to other families in the future.
The panel will be followed by drinks and nibbles, where you will have the opportunity to speak to our experts and ask any questions.
If you have any queries, please reach out to our Singapore events team or Hong Kong events team.
We look forward to welcoming you.
