Richard J. Bodorff, senior counsel in Wiley's Telecom, Media & Technology Practice, has been appointed to serve as Chair of the Maryland Public Broadcasting Commission.
Bodorff was appointed the ninth chair in the Commission's history by Governor Wes Moore. He will accept the gavel on July 1, 2025, after completing a five-year term as Vice Chair of the Commission. He is also the Chair of the Maryland Public Television (MPT) Foundation, having served in that role since 2022.
The Maryland Public Broadcasting Commission serves as the governance board for MPT and holds MPT's broadcast licenses issued by the Federal Communications Commission.
