Summer associate programs are a vital part of our firm's culture, giving rising legal talents the chance to learn, grow, and experience real-world litigation. This summer, we sat down with one of our newest summer associates: Addison Hogan to hear about her law school journey, why she chose to join Drew Eckl & Farnham, and what fun surprises she brings beyond the courtroom.
What's been your favorite part of law school so
far?
"My developing appreciation for espresso."
Whether it's those late-night study sessions or early-morning
case reviews, it sounds like a good cup of espresso has become an
essential part of the law school grind!
Why did you choose to spend your summer at
DEF?
"I wanted to learn from a premier litigation team."
We're proud to be recognized for our strong litigation
practice, and it's great to see ambitious students eager to
dive in and learn from the best.
What's one thing you hope to learn or experience
this summer?
"I am eager to observe a deposition or court
hearing."
There's nothing quite like seeing the action unfold in real
time — and our summer associates get a front-row seat to the
courtroom experience.
Are you more of a morning person or a night owl when it
comes to studying?
"Night owl."
The midnight oil is burning bright! Many law students find their
focus sharpest after hours, and we admire that dedication.
What's one fun fact about you that we won't find
on your resume?
"I bartended for four years."
Mixing drinks requires skill, patience, and the ability to think on
your feet — just like litigation. We love hearing about the
diverse backgrounds our associates bring to the table.
This summer, we're excited to watch Addison Hogan develop her legal skills, gain hands-on experience, and become a valuable part of the DEF team. Stay tuned for more updates as our summer associates continue their journey with us!
