Neither this Ordinance nor the Copyright Ordinance contains provisions for the protection of unregistered design rights nor is there specific provision made for limiting copyright in relation to industrially applied designs. The government has said it is considering whether to introduce sui generis legislation to cater for this, but is awaiting the outcome of international deliberations and, in particular, those now taking place within the European Community.
