The Brazilian PTO is launching a pre-examination report pilot
program, in which the applicants will be able to voluntarily submit
new pages of the applications in order to remedy irregularities
already pointed out by other Patent Offices.
In the pre-examination reports, arguments on the objections,
prior art searches and results of examination for the grant of
corresponding applications in other countries, as well as the
harmonization of the Brazilian applications to the cited prior art
documents and to the Brazilian regulations in force will be
requested.
In case the Official actions are not complied with within a
60-day term, counted from the publication date in the Official
Bulletin, the applications will be abandoned.
The content of this article is intended to provide a general
guide to the subject matter. Specialist advice should be sought
about your specific circumstances.
