We are very excited to announce our support for the Cyprus Computer History Museum, located at Kyriacou Matsi 60, 1^st Floor, 2409, Engomi, Nicosia.

The Museum will open again in May 2022 with special events and pre-scheduled guided tours. With the approval of the Ministry of Education, a specialised Museum Educational program, featuring a 3-hour workshop and hands-on activities, will be made available to primary and secondary education students on the Museum's premises from September 2022, free of charge.

Visitors will be able to browse the biggest private collection of its kind in Cyprus, comprising of more than 150 different models of home computers, video game consoles and hundreds of peripherals and original software titles from the 1970s to the early 2000s, most of them in good working order. Moreover, through the Museum's guided tours and the specially designed interactive Timeline which decorates its walls, visitors will have a unique opportunity to learn about the history of computers.

Commenting on this opportunity, Nicholas Ktenas, our firm's Managing Partner and one of the founders and directors of Retro Computing & Gaming, the non-profit company responsible for operating the Cyprus Computer History Museum, explained:

"As a law firm specialising in technology law, we are very proud to be an integral part of this initiative. It is particularly gratifying for us to be able to devote resources to corporate social responsibility projects which contribute to the education of our children. On a personal level, together with the Museum's cofounder and childhood friend, Alexandros Kofteros, we share a passion for computers and technology which motivated us from an early stage in our adult life to start collecting our childhood computers. A few years ago, reflecting on the progress of our collections, we realised that we could use our common hobby for a good cause. Our vision became to create a place where grown-ups would be able to relive some carefree childhood moments and children would experience the fascinating world of computers and video games when their parents were their age. But most important, to create a place where both grown-ups and children would be able to learn about the history of computers and the remarkable evolution of this technology over the decades."

It is worth noting that in the first 6 months of its operation in 2018, more than 4,000 students of secondary education from Cyprus followed Retro Computing & Gaming's educational programs and took part in its workshops and activities, free of charge.

With the support of eminent sponsors and supporters, Retro Computing & Gaming took part in several events in the recent past, including the Cyprus Comic Con 2019, the 9^th Information and Communication Technology Conference & Exhibition organised by IMH and the European Researcher's Night, organised by the Institute of Research and Innovation. It also featured in a live interview on the CyBC radio in January 2019 and an online article in the digital edition of the "In Business News" Magazine in June 2019.
