Organizations increasingly rely upon on data to drive business. Yet, data disposal is increasingly necessary to stay compliant with changing local and global data privacy regulations, including the forthcoming California Privacy Rights Act.  In addition, retaining aged or unnecessary data can quickly become an additional challenge and risk in today's cyber threat landscape where criminals target large data stores and repositories for data theft and subsequent leakage.  Ransomware actors, in particular, thrive on quickly accessing large data repositories that may not be subject to stringent controls or audit trails, such as databases or more regulated environments.

In this panel discussion, experts with deep experience in both incident response and information governance will address the importance of legal considerations surrounding secure data disposal, as well as offer practical solutions based on industry best practices.
