The global firm Jones Day announces that Samuel Ngo has joined the Firm's Global Disputes Practice as a partner in its Hong Kong Office.

Mr. Ngo has extensive experience both in litigation and international arbitration and has worked for, among others, the Hong Kong Government, state-owned enterprises in the Mainland China, various property developers, international insurance companies, international financial institutions, and other multi-national corporations. Recent matters include representing the Democratic Republic of Congo in a State Immunity argument, and receivers of the controlling stake of a prestigious English football club in a debt restructuring. Mr. Ngo also guided the successful resolution of shareholders' disputes in relation to a company group in control of a landmark building in Shanghai, handled potential disputes for a state-owned enterprise in the Mainland China regarding a large construction project in Saudi Arabia, and represented the controlling shareholder of a Hong Kong-listed company against claims by a strategic investor.

Mr. Ngo's experience also involves handling different types of commercial matters (including shareholders' disputes (regarding listed companies or otherwise), insurance claims, disputes regarding pre-IPO finances, M&A disputes, construction disputes, insolvency works and various other types of complex commercial disputes (both in Hong Kong and in the Mainland China) as well as regulatory compliance advisory and investigation; and white collar crime matters.

Mr. Ngo, a member of The Law Society of Hong Kong SAR, also has experience in investment management, hedge funds, and alternative investments. A graduate of the University of Hong Kong and the University of London, he is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin/Putonghua, and English.
