Toronto (November 8, 2019) — Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) partners Olivier Tardif and Brendan Wong have been named among the 2019 Lexpert® Rising Stars.

Olivier is a member of the firm's Financial Services group and is based out of Montréal. His practice is focused on debt financings, structured financings and financial restructuring. Olivier advises on secured and unsecured syndicated loan facilities as well as bilateral financings, in transactions that range in size from tens of millions to billions of dollars. Olivier is a keen advocate of the introduction of technological innovations in the delivery of legal services. He is frequently asked to present and advise on emerging trends in credit documents drafting and changes to secured transactions law.

Brendan represents a wide variety of clients, whether publicly traded companies or individual investors, in anti-fraud litigation and obtaining urgent injunctions. He regularly investigates commercial fraud, obtains orders to preserve evidence and freezes proceeds of fraud. Through his practice, Brendan has returned millions of dollars to victims of fraud and has obtained injunctions to recover stolen trade secrets. Brendan also frequently represents different stakeholders in partnership and shareholder disputes, both in the context of arbitration or litigation.

The Lexpert® Rising Stars Awards are presented annually and identify exceptional Canadian legal talent under the age of 40 from both in-house and private practice, in all areas of law. Recipients are nominated by either their firms or their clients, and winners are selected by an advisory board consisting of the profession's leadership. This year's winners were celebrated at a gala in Toronto on November 7, 2019.
