On June 14, Carey hosted the seminar "Human Rights and Business: Standards for best practices and risks management". The purpose of the seminar was to identify that the relationship between human rights and business does not only refer to corporate social responsibility, risk management, compliance and expectations, but it also address opportunities under a new global picture, best practices and conduct standards to achieve sustainable management, while identifying the most common risks facing business projects.
The seminar, which had an important number of attendees, had Rafael Vergara and Alejandro Montt as speakers from Carey. It also had as speakers: Ignacio Boulin, partner of Southern Lights Group (Argentina) and Consultant in Human Rights; Milenko Bertrand-Galindo, Professor of the Universidad Católica de Chile; Verónica Zubía, Head of the Human Rights and Business Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Felipe Lopeandía, Head of the OECD Department of the Directorate General of International Economic Relations (DIRECON) of Chile.
