The Real Estate Practice Group of Olisa Agbakoba Legal (OAL), in collaboration with Penuel Prime, Diaspora Heritage Foundation, Jade Allen Consulting, and other industry stakeholders, co-hosted the Real Estate Business Forum on 10 July 2026 at The Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos. The forum, themed "The Ease of Doing Real Estate in Lagos," brought together key stakeholders to discuss reforms, investment opportunities and the future of Lagos' real estate sector.

The event convened policymakers, legal practitioners, real estate developers, investors, financial institutions and industry leaders to examine the regulatory, commercial and policy issues shaping the state's property market. Discussions centred on urban regeneration, social housing and capital, with a strong emphasis on improving the ease of doing business, attracting investment and promoting sustainable real estate development in Lagos.

The Honourable Commissioner for Housing, Lagos State, Hon. Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the Lagos State Government's ongoing housing reforms and initiatives. His presentation covered the proposed Lagos Tenancy and Recovery of Premises Bill 2025, the implementation of the Lagos Electronic Geographic Information System (Lagos E-GIS), accelerated Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) processing, affordable housing incentives, and measures designed to strengthen investor confidence and expand access to housing.

The forum also featured insightful presentations from Dr Olisa Agbakoba, SAN, Senior Partner at OAL; Dr Kemi Onanuga, Synergy Partner at OAL and Head of the Real Estate Practice Group; Osahon Idemudia, Esq., Managing Partner at Iroghama LP; Nonye Ero, Chief Commercial Officer at Penuel Prime Ltd; Shola Bello, Managing Partner at Jade Allen Consulting; and Ayodeji Fashanu, Managing Director of Fayod Homes, who shared practical perspectives on the legal, commercial and investment landscape of the real estate sector.

The discussions reinforced the importance of collaboration between government, legal professionals, developers, investors and other private-sector stakeholders in addressing regulatory challenges, unlocking investment capital and driving innovation across Lagos' real estate ecosystem.

Through its Real Estate Practice Group, OAL remains committed to supporting policy reforms, facilitating strategic investments and providing innovative legal solutions that contribute to a more transparent, efficient and sustainable real estate sector in Nigeria.
