Cahill partners Colleen Tracy James and Andrew J. Cochran will speak at the American Conference Institute’s (ACI) 22nd Annual Paragraph IV Disputes Conference, a leading forum for pharmaceutical patent litigators addressing the latest developments in Hatch-Waxman litigation.

On April 21, Andy will present on the panel, “The §112 Playbook for Small Molecule IP: Top Takeaways from the Latest Case Law on Written Description, Enablement, and the Question of After Arising Technology.” Andy and the other panelists will discuss the balance of disclosure depth and breadth following Amgen v. Sanofi, analyze §112 arguments in district courts and identify cases moving to the Federal Circuit. The discussion will also delve into how Novartis v. Torrent impacts written description, technological advancements, and the scope of patent validity and infringement.

On April 22, Colleen will speak on the first track, “Jury Trials, Expert Witnesses, and Damages in the Life Sciences” part of the Domestic and International Litigation Trends session. In this track, Colleen and the other distinguished speakers will explore strategies for jury trials, focusing on how juries assess complex patent cases, and how the outcomes compare to bench trials. They will also address the evolving standards for expert admissibility following EcoFactor v. Google.
