Washington, D.C. (January 6, 2025) - Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome veteran antitrust attorney Victor (Vic) Domen as Co-Managing Partner of the firm's Washington, D.C. office.

Mr. Domen comes to Lewis Brisbois after a two-year stint at DLA Piper. He will focus his work primarily in the firm's Antitrust & Competition, Government Investigations & White Collar Defense, Healthcare, and Corporate practices. Mr. Domen will lead the Washington, D.C. office alongside fellow Co-Managing Partner Cheryl Wilke.

Mr. Domen, who became acquainted with Antitrust & Competition Practice Chair Todd Seelman through the American Bar Association's Antitrust Law Section, said he was drawn to Lewis Brisbois because of its broad national platform.

"I was looking for an opportunity to help a firm build its antitrust practice, and the size and scope of Lewis Brisbois was critical," Mr. Domen said. "Lewis Brisbois has the expansive reach to handle matters coast to coast, from California to New York, and to handle everything from mergers to litigation."

Mr. Domen added that it was a bonus that Lewis Brisbois has an office in Nashville, where he has spent more than 35 years of his life and where he maintains many clients.

Prior to DLA Piper, Mr. Domen was a partner for five years at Norton Rose Fulbright. Before that, he worked for almost 20 years at the Tennessee Attorney General's Office, serving in several capacities, including as the state's senior antitrust counsel. He also served as the chair of the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) Multistate Antitrust Force, where he coordinated antitrust enforcement efforts with the DOJ's Antitrust Division, the FTC and international competition agencies.

Mr. Domen said that his extensive experience prosecuting antitrust matters earlier in his career gave him an "unusual level of insight into how enforcers think," which has in turn given him an advantage in representing clients in such matters in private practice.

"For years, I was the one sending the subpoena, bringing the litigation, or bringing the enforcement action, so I know how to defend those actions to the benefit of the client," he said. "In many instances, I know the individuals working in the offices of the state attorneys general, the Department of Justice, or the Federal Trade Commission who are bringing actions against clients. This network of relationships has given me an additional level of insight."

Mr. Seelman said that Mr. Domen's unique blend of experience in both public and private practice will make him a tremendous asset in growing Lewis Brisbois' Antitrust & Competition practice.

"Vic is a preeminent antitrust lawyer who can analyze matters from all angles to determine the best resolution for each client," he said. "I'm excited to work with Vic to expand our practice further."

Michael Platner, chair of the firm's national Corporate Practice, echoed these sentiments.

"Vic is well-positioned to help our clients navigate the review processes from federal, state, and international authorities that often arise during complex transactions," Mr. Platner said.
