LOS ANGELES, July 17, 2025 – Proskauer, a leading international law firm, is honored to announce that Los Angeles Business Journal has named partners Gregory (Greg) Knopp and Bart Williams to its 2025 "Leaders of Influence: Litigators & Trial Attorneys" list. Each year, Los Angeles Business Journal recognizes the region's most accomplished litigators and trial attorneys who have demonstrated exceptional professional success and significant contributions to the practice of law.
Greg is a partner in the Labor & Employment Law Department in Proskauer's Los Angeles office. For more than 25 years, he has successfully defended prominent companies in complex employment litigation in both state and federal courts across the country. He is a leading authority on class actions and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) cases, having led some of the most closely watched employment disputes with outcomes that have set important precedents for employers in California and beyond. Greg's practice spans a wide range of employment matters, including wage and hour disputes, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment and arbitration enforcement. He is known for his ability to quickly identify key legal issues and develop strategies that maximize advantage for his clients. Greg represents companies across a broad spectrum of industries, including retail, professional sports, financial services, technology, transportation and healthcare. He is also a trusted advisor to both national companies operating in California and local Los Angeles businesses, leveraging his deep knowledge of the state's regulatory and business landscape to provide strategic legal guidance.
Bart is the chair of Proskauer's Litigation Department and head of the Los Angeles office. A renowned commercial litigator, corporate counselor and trial lawyer with a distinguished track record of success in high-stakes litigation, Bart handles some of the most significant crises facing Fortune 500 companies. While he manages litigation matters from inception, he is also frequently brought in just months over even weeks before trial to secure a win. Bart is a trusted "go to" lawyer, known for strategic leadership that has shaped legal precedent and influenced industry standards. Among his recent victories, Bart served as lead trial counsel for Netflix, acclaimed director and writer Ava DuVernay and award-winning writer Attica Locke in a defamation case brought in federal court in New York by former longtime head of the Manhattan District Attorney's Office sex crimes unit. Bart's leadership led to an extremely successful resolution for the clients when the plaintiff decided to settle the case on the eve of trial with no payment to her or her lawyers, and no confidentiality provision related to the settlement.
