CSB Advocates has announced that Austrian lawyer Dr Peter Binder has been appointed as their new 'Of Counsel' with the aim of providing CSB Advocates and its clients with a wealth of knowledge and experience within his area of expertise, being international commercial arbitration and dispute resolution, as well as all matters pertaining to Austrian law and some aspects of German and Swiss law.
Dr Binder is admitted as "Rechtsanwalt" (Attorney-at-Law) under Austrian law (Vienna Bar Association) and registered to practice in Malta (Ministry of Justice, Valletta) under this home country title. He holds degrees from the University of Vienna (Magister iuris), University of Salzburg (Doctor iuris with honours) and King's College London (LL.M. in International Business Law) whereby his specialisation on international commercial arbitration developed in early years. Over the years, Dr Binder has worked in several top law firms in Austria, for the United Nations (UNCITRAL), for various European universities as lecturer and as law reform consultant advising governments on the implementation of modern arbitration and alternative dispute resolution laws thereby also assisting in the setting up of arbitration centres.
The launching of a dedicated Austrian Desk enables Malta-based businesses and individuals to co-ordinate the assertion of their legal claims and rights in Austria or to apply for the enforcement of Maltese or other EU court judgements as well as arbitral awards in Austria. CSB Advocates is now fully geared to handle such engagements through this strategic alliance and based on Dr Binder's wealth of experience.
