Welcome to this, our first edition for 2015!

What better way to start the year than by giving you a quick recap of the significant changes of last year, with a quick run-through of what to expect over the next 12 months in our succinctly produced "Employment Milestones" table.

Also, just a little note to let you know that our Guernsey Spring Breakfast Series will shortly be underway. This season our focus will be on mental health in the workplace and we are delighted to be joined by Emily Litten of Guernsey Mind to share her wisdom and expertise with us. An invite will be sent out shortly.

Emma Parr will also appear as a guest panellist at Autism Guernsey's event on Tuesday 24 February. This one-off event aims to highlight the existence of autism in the Bailiwick, together with the importance of addressing this disability in the workplace.

The event will consist of a diverse panel, featuring Andy Graham (Director of Autism Guernsey), our own Emma Parr (Head of Employment Law at Collas Crill), Helen Hubbard (HR Manager at Generali) and Tom Moore an adult living with autism. The panel, Chaired by Emma Anderson from Orchard PR, will gather together to consider how workplaces can adapt in order to offer greater opportunities to those suffering with autism and what implications this may have for your business, particularly in light of the proposed disability discrimination legislation due to come into force in 2016.

For more information about the Autism in the Workplace Panel event please click here or email info@autismguernsey.org.gg

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Employment Milestones

Our Employment Milestones table shows what developments arose throughout the Channel Islands and the UK during 2014, and what changes may be in store in the months ahead. Unsurprisingly (many of us would say), little is forecast for Guernsey but there will be plenty to keep Jersey and UK employers busy for the foreseeable future.
