Join us at either a breakfast or lunch briefing where Partner, Jason Lambeth and Senior Associate, Sally Keene will cover the following topics:

  • Debt trading - issues from the purchaser's perspective - lessons from Billabong. Jason Lambeth from our Corporate Advisory team will discuss the issues debt investors face. His presentation will look at the Billabong decision of the Takeovers Panel, and the lessons and guidance coming out of that decision.
  • Model Law on cross border insolvency - 20 years in the making. It has been just over 20 years since the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law commenced its discussions with INSOL International in the hope of creating a more efficient and harmonised process for dealing with international insolvencies. In a world of increasing international trade activities, this presentation by Sally Keene, will analyse how the Model Law on Cross Border Insolvency is aimed at facilitating the recovery of assets outside the domestic jurisdiction and its application in recent decisions.

This briefing qualifies as one Continuing Legal Education (CLE)/Continuing Professional Development (CPD) unit.
