Brown Smith Wallace recently completed a two-month, 'Day of Caring' food drive to support Operation Food Search, a St. Louis non-profit organization that strives to end childhood and family hunger. A recent article in Accounting Today highlights how the firm collected 9,658 pounds of food – equal to $16,322.02 – which produced 850 donated spaghetti dinners.

Seventy percent of the firm's employees made a food or monetary donation during the campaign while 150 Brown Smith Wallace employees donated time to assemble the meals. This year, the firm packaged meals in the office to enable more staff participation. Between planning, coordination and execution, the firm invested hundreds of hours in this initiative including a little friendly competition building pyramids with the collected food.

The results of this year's campaign allowed the firm to increase employee engagement, which contributed to helping more families in the community.

The Day of Caring initiative is a core part of the Brown Smith Wallace culture and firm mission to support community impact and success.
