Kelly S. Crawford, Firm Co-Chair and head of the Firm's Products Liability and Mass Tort Practice Group, is speaking on "Pretrial Settlement Considerations" at PLI's Pretrial Practice 2024 conference. The all-day program, presented by the Practising Law Institute, takes place on April 30, 2024 at PLI New York in midtown Manhattan. Kelly will be speaking at the 4:00 PM session with panelists Marla Alhadeff, adjunct faculty member at the Columbia, Fordham, and Cardozo Law Schools, Hon. Michael A. Hammer of the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey, and Mark E. Segall, a mediator and arbitrator with JAMS.

Kelly and the other panelists will cover all aspects of settlement consideration, including when and how to begin settlement, the use of mediation, confidentiality in settlement discussions, and negotiation strategies. The session will elaborate on how to settle cases remotely, proper bluffing, and on when there is a need for separate settlement counsel.
