Ogier's Real Estate, Commercial, Corporate and M&A, Dispute Resolution and Employment teams in Ireland have received glowing praise in the latest Legal 500 EMEA rankings for 2024.

In client testimonials contained within the guide, Ogier is described as "proactive and responsive to requests" and as always providing a "commercial and practical solution to your problem".

The Real Estate team, which is led by John Hogan and was bolstered last year by the promotion of Gavin Fitzgerald to partner, is "efficient to deal with" and ensures that "clients feel supported in whatever process they are going through", according to the guide.

Clients also stated that it is a "very personable and approachable team that pick up the phone and are open to having queries bounced off them. Gavin Fitzgerald deserves special mention in that regard."

The guide states: "Ogier's broad real estate practice spans development finance, sales and acquisitions, and landlord and tenant matters in a range of sectors, including offices, industrial, retail and hospitality, but it is most prominent in major transactions (including forward sales) in the BTR space. Clients include large domestic real estate developers, as well as investors."

With a "pragmatic" and "modern" approach, Ogier's Commercial, Corporate and M&A is recognised for the quality of advice it gives and the commitment of its team to "get the deal done without undue delay and fuss". Partner Dominic Conlon and associate Aaron Kelly are highlighted for their work, with Dominic described as "clearly very experienced. He is also very intelligent and articulate. He is personable but can easily hold his own if others are being difficult. Very client focussed. An excellent lawyer", while Aaron is praised for his "excellent manner" and his "calm" approach.

For Dispute Resolution work, Ogier's team provides a "very hands-on approach" with an "excellent understanding of the key legal components of dispute resolution law". The team, which is headed up by Larry Fenelon with Ronan McGoldrick leading on financial services dispute resolution, is described by clients as "responsive", "reliable" and as bringing a "client-friendly approach".

The Employment team's varied workload – including a wide variety of mandates involving unfair dismissals, misconduct, discrimination and employee grievances – also receives praise in the Legal 500 EMEA guide, with partner Blathnaid Evans described as "very commercial astute. She will often offer an innovative solution to a problem more suited to the business than the traditional approach."

John Hogan practise partner said about the news: "It is always very humbling and gratifying to get such great feedback from our clients. We are really delighted to be recognised in the Legal 500 2024 rankings and we are especially proud to see the kind accolades for our brilliant colleagues".
