As of August 1, 2013, the World Intellectual Property Organization ("WIPO") now offers new certification and legalization services to users of the Madrid trademark system.  Specifically, for the payment of a fee, trademark registrants may now acquire:

  • Certified copies of international trademark registrations and certificates of renewal, reflecting the goods and services at the time of registration and renewal, respectively;
  • Certified extracts of the goods and services currently covered by a particular international registration  – on an expedited basis (i.e., within five business days of the request); and
  • Legalized certified extracts of the goods and services currently covered by a particular international registration for production in non-contracting parties to the Madrid system, which require such documentation.
