On September 22, the House of Representatives passed the Improving Small Business Cyber Security Act,
which authorizes the Small Business Administration
("SBA") to offer cybersecurity strategy grants to small
business development centers that provide consulting services,
guidance, and funding to small businesses and entrepreneurs. The
grants would apply to independent businesses having fewer than 500
employees, which the SBA reports make up 99.7 percent of all the
businesses in the United States.
