Many marijuana businesses are small, often private, endeavors. Donna More explains that most of her medical marijuana clients have been startups founded by a group of small investors. She explains, "Then many of them partnered with bigger entities from Colorado."
In the near future, More doesn't expect to see any large pharmaceutical companies jumping into the marijuana business. She says, "As long as it's still an illegal substance under federal law and you've got that tension there, you won't see big companies going in."
