CHARLOTTE, N.C.—A proposed amendment to state bar rules
would make North Carolina only the second state in the nation to
require annual technology training for attorneys. The N.C. State
Bar is pursuing a requirement that would mandate one hour of
mandatory technology training for lawyers as part of the annual
12-hour CLE requirement.
Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Mark Henriques, who chairs the
N.C. State Bar's Ethics Committee, discussed the proposal with
Bloomberg Law.
Henriques said "attorneys must have some understanding
about how technology is affecting their practice."
