The Stroudsburg School Board is expected to vote Wednesday whether to remove John Toleno as superintendent.

Following several technical issues with Toleno's contract, it is the board's intention to end Toleno's employment with the district, said Sultanik, the district's labor lawyer.

The board is also expected to make a motion to appoint Kenneth A. Roos to act as special counsel in the event of a special hearing. Roos would act as a neutral third party, hearing both sides and then making a recommendation to the school board on how to proceed, said Sultanik.

"I will present the case on behalf of the school board, and Dr. Toleno's counsel will present his case on his behalf. This independent counsel (Roos) will then make a recommendation to the school board," Sultanik said.
