The Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) has updated all of its main model mediation rules and documents to reflect the changing use of mediation which includes a growing trend for parties to attempt mediation before issuing proceedings. Mediations are also increasingly set up at short notice. The changes include stricter language in relation to confidentiality and revised provisions for appointing mediators and commencing mediation.
