JSA is pleased to announce that Abhishek Munot, Anand Lakra, Ashish Suman, Divyam Agarwal, Malini Raju, and Soumitra Majumdar have been elected to the JSA partnership with effect from 1 April 2022. With these partner elevations, the total number of equity partners at the firm will be 43.

Abhishek Munot's practice focuses on sector specific commercial litigation, arbitration, constitutional & administrative law litigation and regulatory proceedings before statutory authorities, tribunals and courts. He regularly advises on key legal and constitutional issues involving public policy, market economics, technology, and finance. He is a member of the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa and Bombay Bar Association. He completed his LLB from ILS Law College, Pune in 2007.

Anand Lakra
Corporate – M&A, Private Equity
Mumbai

Anand Lakra's practice focuses primarily on transactions involving publicly traded companies and securities law matters. He specializes in domestic and cross-border transactions including Takeovers, M&A, Private Equity, Take Private Offers, and Joint Ventures. He also frequently advises clients on restructuring of their investments in publicly traded companies and in securities enforcement proceedings. He is a member of the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa and completed his LLB from the Government Law College, Mumbai in 2007.

Ashish Suman

Ashish Suman's key focus area is Infrastructure Specialty contracts as well as Public Procurement and Public Private Partnership with an emphasis on Construction, Transportation and Energy sectors. He has worked on domestic and international road & highway projects and has advised on Framework Agreements for Expressways, EPC, Operation and Maintenance Contracts & Joint Ventures in the road sector. He is a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association and the Delhi High Court Bar Association. He completed his LLM from the University of Birmingham, UK in 2004 and LLB from National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore in 2002.

Divyam Agarwal

Divyam Agarwal is a dual-qualified Indian Advocate and English Solicitor. Divyam specialises in international commercial arbitration and has a broad practice advising and representing corporates and financial institutions in disputes under commercial contracts. He has significant experience of complex, large-scale contentious mandates, as well as, a wide-ranging practice based on managing both arbitration and commercial litigation. He is an Advocate on Record at the Supreme Court of India and member of the Delhi High Court Bar Association. He completed his LLM from the London School of Economics & Political Science, UK in 2008 and his LLB from Amity Law School, Delhi in 2007.

Malini Raju

Malini Raju's practice focus on Real Estate transactions, conducting Due Diligences and drafting allied documents including property development agreements and construction agreements. She has advised and drafted documentation for some of the largest investments in the Real Estate sector in India in the past few years. She regularly provides advice on property related matters to various multinational companies. Malini is a member of the Karnataka State Bar Council and completed her LLB from the Bangalore University in 2001.

Soumitra Majumdar

Soumitra Majumdar's practice focuses on Banking & Finance. He works closely with Indian and multinational banks, development financial institutions, commodity finance houses, non-banking finance companies as well as corporates, for structuring, due diligence, documentation and negotiations, in relation to a wide variety of financing transactions. He also specialises in large complex debt restructurings and project finance.
