Brexit's impact on international co-operation, trends in UK
Unexplained Wealth Orders, and the issues with banking clients from
"difficult" jurisdictions – these topics and more
will be covered at Walkers' Jersey Fraud and Financial Crime
Conference on Thursday 10 October.
The all-day event, which takes place at the Royal Yacht, features
speakers including partners from London law firms, the States of
Jersey's lead policy adviser on financial crime, directors of
accountancy firms, the States' director of external relations,
and partners from six of Walkers' international offices.
Partner Nigel Sanders, who leads Walkers' Insolvency and
Dispute Resolution team in the Channel Islands, said that the event
was well-timed.
He said: "The way that international relations and regulations
are changing and developing mean that risk and regulation
aren't just issues for compliance teams – they are front
and centre for everyone in the financial services industry
representing international clients, whether you are a banker,
trustee, administrator or lawyer."
"We've put together an authoritative line-up of expert
speakers to talk about some of the key elements of that overall
risk picture to give the perspective of onshore counsel,
regulators, advisory professionals, and of course the input from
Walkers' partners from our Jersey, Guernsey, London, Dublin,
Cayman and BVI offices."
