Walkers is pleased to announce Cayman Islands partner Barnaby
Gowrie has relocated to Dubai to lead the Insolvency and Dispute
Resolution practice.
Barnaby's secondment to the Dubai office is an integral part of
Walkers' strategy to provide the best-in-class contentious and
restructuring legal services in the Middle East region.
Barnaby brings over 17 years of experience to the Dubai practice
and specialises in the complex international contentious and
non-contentious restructuring of Cayman Islands companies and
partnerships. He also regularly advises governments, sovereign
wealth funds, private equity and hedge funds, insolvency
practitioners (including Court appointed liquidators) and other
market participants with respect to insolvent, distressed or
litigious situations.
Dubai managing partner Daniel Wood said, "we are delighted
that Barnaby has joined us in Dubai to help cater to our growing
clients' needs for insolvency and dispute resolution work.
Barnaby's move demonstrates our commitment to our clients in
the Middle East and is an invaluable addition as we grow our Dubai
insolvency and dispute resolution offering."
Barnaby has also commented, "Walkers is the only offshore firm
in the Middle East that has a dedicated, on-the-ground insolvency
and dispute resolution presence. We are able to assist Middle
Eastern clients on a real time basis which is vital in distressed
situations. Walkers Dubai are currently providing innovative
offshore solutions to a number of key Middle Eastern market
participants regarding a variety of distressed offshore situations
across a number of different asset classes. It is an exciting time
to be in the region!"
