We wish to invite you to our second seminar in the Transport, Shipping & Logistics Seminar Series for 2019 - Transport, shipping and logistics contracts - tips to stay ahead of the curve.

Transport, shipping and logistics contracting is a peculiar beast. Contracting in this sector is not only a function of commercial wishes, but is also impacted by:

  • established international and domestic commercial and contracting practices; and
  • international and domestic regulation, in this highly regulated sector.

In addition to the usual commercial arm-wrestle, there are many pitfalls for businesses that aren't fully across the international and regulatory frameworks that apply.

As a result, transport, shipping and logistics contracting can be complex and may give rise to unexpected and unwelcome risk and surprises.

Our national Transport, Shipping & Logistics team negotiate, draft, advise on and resolve disputes arising out of transport contracts every day. You are invited to join us for a session that will seek to take the edge off some of the pricklier contracting issues and share our insight and experience in relation to the most common mistakes businesses on either side of the fence make when preparing transport contracts. With recent moves by the ACCC to have certain potentially unfair terms removed from transport sector contracts, this session should be very timely for those in or dealing with the transport sector.

This session will be of interest to any business in the supply chain that contracts in relation to procurement, transport, storage, handling, distribution or sale of goods or materials. Relevant businesses will include shipping, logistics, warehousing, transport operators, importers, exporters, manufacturers, distributors, local councils and building and construction businesses.

Please RSVP to attend this seminar below.

We hope to see you there..
