McDermott Will & Schulte has advised global alternative asset management group Tikehau Capital on the acquisition of a hotel property in Berlin, Germany.

Tikehau Capital is acquiring the property together with Dunman Capital Partners, a Frankfurt-based real estate investor. The existing vacant hotel is intended to be demolished and replaced by a new development comprising approximately 250 serviced apartment units with a total floor area of around 7,300 square meters.

McDermott provided comprehensive legal and tax advice to Tikehau Capital in connection with the acquisition, including on the transaction structure, tax structuring and financing.

In 2025, McDermott previously advised Tikehau Capital on a comparable transaction involving the acquisition of a property on Querstraße in Frankfurt, Germany, for the development of a serviced apartment project.

The McDermott team was led by real estate partner Johannes Honzen and included partners Christoph Coenen, Alexa Ningelgen and Florian Schiefer, as well as associates Tatjana Kuhlen, Lene Niemeier and Michael Spirk.
