Foley partner Judy Waltz, chair of the Health Care Practice
Group, is speaking in the California Society for Healthcare
Attorneys’ upcoming Fall Seminar in the session
“Medicare & Medicaid Administrative Enforcement: Emerging
Trends.”
This session will cover how federal health care enforcement is
becoming increasingly complex, creating new compliance risks for
providers and the attorneys who advise them. The speakers will
explore how the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’
enforcement authorities are being applied in California, including
Office of the Inspector General (OIG) investigations and
exclusions, Medicaid Fraud Control Unit actions, Centers for
Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) payment suspensions and
revocations, and affiliation-based enforcement. Through real-world
California examples, attendees will gain practical insight into
emerging enforcement trends, common risk areas, and strategies for
advising clients in today’s evolving regulatory
landscape.
