Axinn LLP secured a major victory for Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) in the United States, et al. v. Google LLC, before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia (EDVA), where Judge Leonie Brinkema rejected the Department of Justice’s bid to impose major structural changes on Google’s ad tech business, including breaking apart tools that help small businesses reach new customers and grow.

Axinn has co-led Google’s defense of the litigation, brought by the DOJ and a coalition of 17 states, since the case was filed.

The ruling follows more than three and a half years of litigation, and years of investigation prior to that.

Axinn’s work on the matter has been recognized by The American Lawyer’s “Litigator of the Week” and Global Competition Review with its “Behavioural Matter of the Year – Americas” award. The firm’s representation of Google also extends to parallel investigations by international antitrust agencies.

Axinn Team

Partners Daniel Bitton and Bradley Justus led the Axinn team, which included partners James Hunsberger and Allison Vissichelli, counsel Russell Steinthal, Andrew Freeborn and Kenina Lee, and associates Christopher Erickson, Chandler Gordon, Maryanne Magnier, Luke Martin, Neelesh Moorthy, Blake Pescatore, Sam Sherman, Darpan Singh, and Isabella Solórzano.
